This tabular data set contains estimated and measured data on the physical and chemical soil properties, soil interpretations, and static and dynamic metadata. The static tabular metadata documents the underlying data structure, independent of the actual data contained in an export. The static tabular metadata table names are mdstatdomdet, mdstatdommas, mdstatidxdet, mdstatidxmas, mdstatrshipdet, mdstatrshipmas, mdstattabcols, and mdstattabs. The dynamic metadata documents the contents of a particular export. The dynamic metadata table names are distinterpmd, distlegendmd, and distmd. The structure of the static and dynamic metadata tables can be viewed online via the URL listed in the Online_Linkage element above. Most tabular data exist in the database as a range of soil properties, depicting the range for the soil survey area. Data are obtained from a combination of field observations, site descriptions and transects, and laboratory analyses. In making the soil survey, soil scientists observed landforms and landscape features, such as the steepness, length, and shape of slopes; the general pattern of drainage; the kinds of crops and native plants growing on the soils; and the kinds of bedrock. They observed and studied many soil profiles. Samples of some of the soils in the area were collected for laboratory analyses and for engineering tests. Soil boundaries were drawn on the soil maps and a locally tailored tabular data base was constructed, based on those observations and the resulting landscape model the soil scientist developed. These data can be used with their companion field maps. Contact the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service State Soil Scientist for additional information.
This tabular data set depicts information about the kinds and distribution of soils on the landscape. The data were prepared by soil scientists as part of the National Cooperative Soil Survey.

Use constraints The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service, should be acknowledged as the data source in products derived from these data. This tabular data set is not designed for use as a primary regulatory tool in permitting or siting decisions, but may be used as a reference source. This is public information and may be interpreted by organizations, agencies, units of government, or others based on needs; however, they are responsible for the appropriate application. Federal, State, or local regulatory bodies are not to reassign to the Natural Resources Conservation Service any authority for the decisions that they make. The Natural Resources Conservation Service will not perform any evaluations of these data for purposes related solely to State or local regulatory programs. The interpretations and analysis derived from these data do not eliminate the need for onsite sampling, testing, and detailed study of specific sites for intensive uses. Thus, these data and their interpretations are intended for planning purposes only. Digital data files are periodically updated. Files are dated, and users are responsible for obtaining the latest version of the data.
